Eagle View Motel & Retreat

We loved our stay at Eagle View! The owners are very kind and accommodating. The rooms are quaint, but comfortable and a nice place to lay your head at the end of the day! The best part is by far the view overlooking the Mississippi. We loved watching the sunrise from our room each morning. The outdoor area is very well kept as well, with plenty of space to lounge and take in the view. The sauna was also incredible! It had a great window in it to take in the view as well!

Incredible views in this small, older motel. The rooms are neat, clean and well maintained. We booked the "suite" and found it well equipped, comfortable with an incredible view of the Mississippi River. Grounds are well cared for. This is not a fancy place or an upscale motel, but the view will bring us back for fall color.

We had a very pleasant one night stay at this delightful motel! It was an extension of a 5 day trip to avoid driving too long on the last day home. It was chosen for the location and the view, and maybe because I like to photograph eagles when I can! (Unfortunately we saw none, our stay was too brief!)The room was clean, much cleaner than the one we stayed in for the previous four days, which was a major chain hotel (I won't mention the name, but we won't use their services in the future!). This is a beautiful spot to stay, no frills but, again, very clean and a comfortable bed. The property is well kept and did I mention the view? We will return to stay a few days when the seasons change and maybe see some migratory birds.

Beautiful resort. We were treated to an excellent view of the Mississippi River. Lots of birds to watch and fortunate enough to even see a flock of pelicans! We had pre- approval to bring our small dog and Kyle was very helpful and prompt for any questions. Highly recommend- We will be back!

We loved this place and can't wait to go back. Fantastic view of the Mississippi River. The Motel is up on a bluff. The room is comfortable with a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave, comfortable bed, great view from the window, balcony, and front lawn. Close to town but quiet.

Cute little motel with a spectacular view of the Mississippi River. However, for the price, we expected our room to be much better. It was very small in comparison to most other places. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was decent size and clean. The carpet is very old and needs to be replaced. It had a large patch just outside the bathroom that we tripped on a couple of times and a big stain near the door. The countertop under the beat-up mini fridge seemed to be a leftover as it was missing the corner, leaving the corner of the cabinet below it exposed. This room seemed like it was an afterthought, and maybe the other rooms aren't as bad, but for over $100, definitely expected better.

Pet Friendly Great Rooms. The owner was very nice, super clean room with a million dollar view of the Upper Mississippi River Basin. They also have a fire pit for beautiful night fires. Truthfully everything is good. The only con is Guttenberg is small and there is ZERO delivery for food. So my advice is get to town early so that you can eat supper.

I want to thank the angel who saved me when I was erroneously dropped off at your location during Ragbrai. Kindly gave me a ride down the hill into town to get my vehicle. Also showed me around the beautiful property. I am embarrassed to say I can't remember her name, only that she was an RN from Chicago. Anyway, thank you so much. The view from this property is amazing.
